The Session

Before you spend lakhs, sit down for ninety minutes.

Layout, materials, budget. Clear answers for your home.

i. Who it’s for

So many questions. No one to ask.

Illustration of a bare concrete room in Dhaka, sunlight falling through an open window. Pictures of kitchens, living rooms, a lamp and patterned tiles are taped to the wall, and a rolled-up floor plan leans in the corner.

You’ve seen hundreds of designs. Modern one day, classic the next. A kitchen you loved at a friend’s place. Pinterest boards that don’t quite fit together. You’re not sure how it all becomes one home.

Maybe you’re not ready to start yet. Work might begin in six months, or two years. The roof is still being cast. The walls are just going up. Or you’ve only just booked the apartment.

That’s the right time to talk.

This session is for you if

  • You can’t settle on a style, or on how it works room to room.
  • You’re months or years away from starting.
  • You don’t want to repeat the mistakes of your current home.
  • You know a lot already and want a second check on your plan.
ii. How it starts

First, I listen.

A cup of tea seen from above on a wooden table in warm light, ripples spreading across the surface.

Before we talk about design, I want to know you. Your family. Your daily routine. Which rooms you use, and when. How you eat. What you love to cook.

Say we’re talking about the kitchen. I’ll ask:

  • Who cooks, and for how long?
  • Is there help in the kitchen?
  • What do you need to store?
  • What have you never found a place for?
  • Which ready-made accessories do you want to fit in?

Then we look at your layout. Where the stove, sink, and storage should go. Which colours and lighting suit you.

iii. The materials

See it. Touch it.

HPL. MDF. Gorjon ply. Duco. Enamel. You hear these words all the time. But what are they, really?

In the session, you hold them in your hand. You see them raw, and you see what’s inside. HPL, for example, is only a thin sheet. The board underneath is what really matters.

Material samples are at the studio. Video sessions cover everything else.

Offcuts of plywood and board standing on edge in a workshop, the layers inside each sheet showing.
iv. The budget

A real sense of the cost.

No one can give an exact budget before the design exists. But you’ll leave with a rough idea of what your home could cost. And you’ll know:

  • Which materials raise the cost, and which bring it down
  • Which give a modern finish, and which a classic one
  • Which last two years, which last ten, and which last twenty
  • Where to spend, and where to save
Six material samples laid out on a wooden table in sunlight: laminate, MDF, plywood, a green finish, walnut veneer and terrazzo, with a cup of tea, a pencil and a calculator.
v. Who you’ll meet

Me, and my team.

You’ll sit with me and my interior design and architecture team. I’ve spent more than fifteen years learning how a space should feel, most of it in 3D visualization. That’s how I know what works in a home, and what only looks good in a picture.

vi. What you leave with

You walk out clear.

  1. i.

    How to approach your interior

  2. ii.

A plan, and the order to do things in

  3. iii.

    A rough budget

  4. iv.

    The right materials, and why

  5. v.

    Where your money matters most

Think of it as a short course on your own home. Before you put lakhs into it.

vii. The details

The practical part.

viii. Questions

My work won’t start for a year. Is it too early?

No. This is the best time to talk. It’s easier to plan before work begins.

Can we do it by video?

Yes. We cover everything except the material samples. Those you need to see in person.

Why is it a paid session?

There are too many questions for a phone call. A proper session gives them the time they need. Good advice early saves you far more later.

I already know a lot. Is it still worth it?

Yes, if you want a second check. We’ll go over your plan, and look at what’s new in materials right now.

Is the session right for you?

If you’re about to spend a lot on your home, spend ninety minutes first. Bring your questions. Leave with answers.
